Naine came to see us after many years of suffering with an upper denture. Her holding teeth were becoming looser and looser and she finally decided that it was time to make a change. Naine had 4 implants on the same day, otherwise known as All-on-4 treatment. All-on-4 uses strategically placed implants as a secure base for complete dentures to permanently fix to. Having permanently stabilised dentures meant that Naine never has to worry about taking them in and out ever again.

“I had a denture and I hated it,” said Naine

“I struggled every morning to get it in because I would gag, so I spent every morning without my teeth in and I just hated it. I always felt incomplete in a way, it could take away my confidence. I did the rounds of various places, I had various interviews. Martin offered me something that nobody else had, which was this four implants and a fixed denture, which I felt was a really, really good idea.”

After the initial implants were placed, Naine had a provisional bridge fitted while her final teeth were being made. This meant that she never had to wear a full denture. After a few months of living with the provisional teeth, Naine finally had her permanent teeth placed and was extremely happy with the result.

“I was so pleased with the temporary ones and then I got my finals and it was just great because they just felt so secure. Having this fixed denture and not having to take my denture in and out all the time has been life changing. I wouldn’t have got better treatment anywhere else. It’s just been, I would say, very successful. I think this is probably about as good as it gets.”

“Martin is clearly a man of integrity, you know, I got that quite quickly and that feeling increased in me,” said Naine.

“He’s very, very meticulous. I think he’s a very, very good dentist. He treats his patients as intelligent equals. He explained everything to me very clearly, every time. Every time I was here, I’d say what are you doing today, and he’d go through it. We looked at my teeth on screen, so I think that’s a really important part of how he operates successfully, is he keeps you well informed. He just kept going and kept going until he was 100% pleased with the work that he’d done.”

After losing a tooth at the front of his mouth, Ashley decided his best option was to have a dental implant and was referred to Ten Dental by his regular dentist to carry out complex treatment and rebuild his broken down upper teeth. Pat was referred to Ten Dental by her daughter who works in the dental industry. When she came to us, she had a combination of fillings, bridgework and crowns and was very unhappy with the general appearance of her teeth. Although Pat doesn’t live in London, she was willing to make the journey from her home in New Forest for the right treatment and care.

“Before I had the treatment, it was a mishmash of fillings, bridgework and crowns and it was just all a bit of a mess really,” said Pat.

“My daughter is in the implant industry and she was the one who said Nik is the best. She’d been to his seminars and his lectures. It’s difficult to say exactly how patient he is. Nothing but nothing is too much trouble. He talks through every procedure, so you know exactly what’s ahead of you. Throughout the whole of the procedure, he gives you all the time in the world and everything is explained.”

Pat’s treatment involved a combination of dental implants, grafting and crowns to restore the aesthetic appearance of her smile and also the functionality of her teeth. The end result was a fabulous new smile of which she is now very proud. In Pat’s own words, it has completely “changed her life”.

“Initially I wanted just implants for teeth that were missing and, in the end, I just ended up having them all crowned because it was just too good an opportunity,” said Pat.

“What you’re not aware of until after you’ve had the treatment is how you were very, very self-conscious of your teeth and it’s liberating when you don’t have to do that! My daughter got married about a year after I’d had all of it done and I thought to myself, I wouldn’t be smiling like this for the photographs had it not been for my teeth and that’s not to mention the eating side of it which is also a plus. I had to be careful what I ate. Subsequently, I can eat sweetcorn and nuts and apples, which I adore apples. I’m very pleased. This has changed my life, it really has.”

After his dental bridge broke, Stephen’s only options were to get a denture or be referred elsewhere for specialist treatment. Stephen decided against the denture and was referred to Ten Dental to find a suitable solution. Following his consultation with our expert implant surgeon, Nikhil Sisodia, Stephen was delighted to hear that dental implants could permanently restore both his smile and his chewing capacity. This was music to his ears after originally being told that his case was complex and uneasy to solve.

“I had a bridge and that broke,” said Stephen.

“My NHS dentist said to me that the only option was to have a denture, and that will change your voice. Hearing that really bothered me and the idea of wearing a denture as well, I was quite upset about that.

“I could have just had the bridge sorted out but actually, after talking to Nik I decided, I wanted to go a bit further with this and I had the whole lot.”

Through careful management of his implant treatment, Stephen was able to have multiple dental implants, in both the upper and lower jaws, to restore his smile and his chewing capacity. The results were life changing and Stephen could not have been happier.

“Every step of this treatment was explained to me, exactly what was going to be done. I just felt very safe and I trusted him,” said Stephen.

“The implants, I couldn’t believe it. I was amazed, really amazed. To actually have fixed teeth, I didn’t think I’d have that sensation again. I’m free of pain, I feel confident in my smile now. It’s brilliant. I can’t praise them enough.”

When Rick came to Ten Dental, he had a mish-mash of crowns and some missing teeth. The crowns had dark lines around the edges and some of them were loose. The appearance of his teeth had caused Rick to become highly self-conscious about his smile. Before arriving at Ten Dental, Rick was adamant that he did not want a denture. He was happy to learn during a discussion with our implant expert, Martin, that he could get dental implants; a tooth replacement that is fixed securely into the jawbone and could restore both the appearance of Rick’s smile and his confidence. It’s just like having real teeth again.

“I work with a company where everyone seems young and beautiful and everyone around me appears to have perfect teeth,” said Rick.

“I felt more and more embarrassed, I actually reached that point where I felt ashamed.”

Following his consultation, Rick had 5 implants and new crowns on the remaining teeth to give him a brand-new smile. After cracking his front three teeth during a round the world yacht race, Daniel opted for a replacement denture to help with the aesthetic appearance of his smile. Living with a denture, however, was proving extremely difficult and uncomfortable. He couldn’t eat certain foods and as a naturally active and sociable person, he felt the denture was limiting his lifestyle. Daniel came to Ten Dental after a friend recommended dental implants. After a consultation with Ten Dental, Daniel agreed that, as a permanent and fixed solution, implants were his best option.

“I did a round the world yacht race, had an accident and cracked my front three teeth.” Said Daniel.

“One of the three teeth had really started to go black and it was affecting my confidence, I was having to be careful about what I ate. Fortunately, a friend of mine, who had recently just finished having an implant, mentioned that she’d come here to Ten Dental.”

Daniel’s treatment involved 3 implants to replace his front 3 teeth, along with some tooth whitening to brighten the colour of his remaining teeth. The outcome was a winning smile and the ability to eat whatever he wanted without the worry of his denture slipping or coming out.

“I actually wore dentures for a year and I was unable to eat in public because the dentures adhesive wasn’t actually strong enough to keep them in all the time. Since the implants, I can eat anything, I haven’t got that problem anymore. I should have had this done 10 years ago.”

Leonard came to Ten Dental seeking treatment for both functional and aesthetic reasons. After neglecting his teeth due to work pressures, Leonard had opted for replacement dentures, however, they were causing him issues with functionality. When he arrived at Ten Dental, Leonard explained that he wanted to restore his chewing capacity and improve the appearance of his teeth. “I neglected my teeth for approximately 24 years,” said Leonard.

“While I had two jobs, I didn’t have time to go to the dentist and because of the neglect, they got in a bad way.

Where and when is the open day?

The open day will take place on Saturday 28^th April, from 10am to 3pm at the Omnibus Theatre, 1 Clapham Northside SW4 0QW. The event is entirely free, and attendees are welcome to pop in whenever they like between the times of 10 and 3. Those attending are required to book in advance so that we can supply the appropriate number of information packs and goodie bags.
